American inn and black forest brewery9/27/2023 ![]() ![]() meadows and redwoods of the Jackson Demonstration State Forest. Plan to find it exactly as you left it if staying more than one night. a black and white photo of lumberjacks of yesteryear with a massive cut redwood tree. Enjoy the distinctive flavors of American and Belgian ales, including the Nothin’ Like Friends brown ale, with its soft mahogany color, smooth head, and malty. My point to anyone going away and staying here-don't expect any servicing of your room, etc. With a focus on creating and serving true tavern ales, Black Forest Brewery invites you to visit their brewery and tasting room, where you can 'belly up' and share a laugh and a story while enjoying one of their finely crafted brews. Most bathrooms have a sign that mentions to please reuse your towels for environmental purposes, which I completely agree with but again, no sign, so we expected a change of towels, but definitely not a change of bed linens. According to Denise, servicing a room is only done when requested (I knew nothing about this policy), but the room had no signs saying to let the Innkeeper know if you would like your room serviced or not. ![]() I have never, ever heard of anything like this!!! My husband and I only stay at B&Bs when we travel, so I can say we have been to about 10 or 15 of them over the course of our marriage, and this was the first and only time when we experienced this. Recently, I emailed Denise to ask her if this was just an oversight, and she explained that the only time they clean the rooms is when the guests have completed their stay or if they stay three or more nights. We have only one complaint-when we returned from a fun and tiring day on Saturday (we stayed Friday and Saturday nights), we opened the door to our room and found it exactly as we left it in the morning (bed unmade, bathroom as is, trash not emptied, etc.)-in so many words-a mess! I know I should have mentioned this immediately to the owners but didn't do so. The Innkeepers, Denise and Bob, were very warm and hospitable. It only comes alive once a year, so enjoy it while you. The Inn and our room (Traveler's Nook) were lovely and immaculate. Our Pumpkinhead ale is a clean, crisp American wheat ale, flavored with a unique blend of pumpkin spices. My husband and I spent a weekend last month at 1777 Americana to celebrate our wedding anniversary. ![]()
